About AI Tapes
The Intersection of Evolving Topical Delivery Systems
& Proven Kinesiology Taping Techniques
Tapes, also known as sports tapes, are flexible and adhesive strips used to provide support to muscles, joints, and tissues during physical activity and recovery. They serve as vital tools for athletes and active individuals, helping to prevent injuries, offer support, and alleviate discomfort.
The purpose of tapes is to offer additional stability to tissues, joints, and muscles, reducing the risk of strains, sprains, and other injuries. They can also aid in improving blood circulation and lymphatic drainage, contributing to faster recovery after physical exertion.
Tapes come in various types and serve different purposes. For instance, kinesiology tapes can support muscles and joints while maintaining a full range of motion, whereas wraps and bandages are used for compression and limiting movement in cases of injury.
Tapes designed with warming and cooling properties offer unique benefits to athletes and individuals seeking targeted comfort during physical activities and recovery.
Warming Tapes: These tapes often incorporate materials that generate gentle warmth when applied to the skin. The warming effect can help improve blood circulation to the taped area, providing a soothing sensation and potentially easing muscle stiffness. Warming tapes are particularly popular in colder climates or when engaging in activities that require increased blood flow to specific muscles.
Cooling Tapes: On the other hand, cooling tapes are engineered with materials that provide a mild cooling sensation upon contact with the skin. This cooling effect can help alleviate discomfort associated with inflammation, muscle soreness, or overheating during intense workouts. Cooling tapes are favored for post-workout recovery or for activities in warmer conditions.
Both warming and cooling tapes offer localized relief and support, enhancing the overall tape-wearing experience. These specialized tapes are versatile additions to an athlete's toolkit, allowing them to tailor their tape choice based on their needs and the demands of their activity.
When selecting between warming, cooling, or traditional tapes, athletes can consider factors like their activity type, climate conditions, and personal preference. Integrating these specialized tapes into their routines can provide an extra layer of comfort and targeted support, enhancing their performance and recovery journey.
Regardless of your activity level, whether it's sports, fitness, or everyday routines, tapes can be valuable tools for enhancing comfort, preventing injuries, and boosting overall performance.
The AI Technology
AI Tape is an elastic kinesiology tape that is applied to the skin to support muscles and joints during physical activity and recovery. Kinesiology tape is applied on the skin along muscles, tendons and ligaments, to provide external support during physical activity and to aid in recovery while maintaining a full range of motion.
It is hypothesized that kinesiology tape supports injured muscles and joints and helps relieve pain by lifting the skin and allowing improved blood and lymph flow to the affected tissues.
AI Tape is available with active ingredients added to the adhesive to further help support performance and recovery.
Tape & Technology
1. AI Tape combines 98% cotton with 2% spandex elastic material to produce a 170% stretch factor for optimal comfort and performance.
2. The active ingredients are held in suspension within a proprietary adhesive matrix that is applied to the skin. A special water-based acrylic adhesive is used to allow maximum durability, strength, and hold during the most grueling athletic event. The active ingredients start to work right away and are continuously released over time to support athletic performance and recovery.
3. A silicone release liner is used to keep the active ingredients fresh and the adhesive strong. The release liner is easily removed from the tape before application.
